Power to Decide Commends Passage of Continuing Resolution

(WASHINGTON, D.C.) — Today, in a vote of 370-48, the House of Representatives passed a Continuing Resolution (CR) to fund the federal government through December 11, 2026. The CR, which was first passed by the U.S. Senate in August, maintains funding for key programs like the Title X Family Planning Program (Title X), and the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program (TPP). It also delays any implementation of an extremely harmful Trump-Vance administration proposed rule to allow political interference in the federal grantmaking process.

In response, Power to Decide Interim Co-CEO and Vice President, Policy and Strategic Partnerships, Rachel Fey, issued the following statement:  

“Power to Decide is pleased the House and Senate have moved to continue federal funding for key programs including Title X and TPP. These programs are critical sources of reproductive health care and information. However, both are currently under attack by the Trump-Vance administration. HHS has terminated the vast majority of TPP grants and is trying to remake both Title X and TPP into pipelines to fund its pronatalist, anti-science agenda. 

“Across the country, people are losing health coverage. The very clinics they turn to are struggling to keep their doors open. We urge Congress to commit not only to funding these essential programs but also to ensuring that they deliver the evidence-based care and information they were created to provide.”
